 HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR MATERNITY HOSPITAL :

 

 In the Toulouse area you have the choice to deliver in hospitals or clinics. You can also deliver at home with the help of a mid-wife. Nowadays it is not very usual especially in large cities. Moreover you can only opt for this option is your pregnancy is viewed as a normal and not risky.

 

 

If you opt for hospitals or clinics, here is a list of questions you may think about before taking your decision. Of course you can go and visit the childbirth department, especially the delivery rooms.

 

 

 

List of some relevant questions :

-Is there an obstetrician, a midwife, an anesthetist and a pediatrician  24hours ?

-Can you have an epidural anesthesia even during the night?

-Can the father attend to the delivery?

-How are the delivery rooms?

-How many delivery rooms are there?

-Is there a bath in the delivery room or just one for all the floor?

-Is there a special unit in case of difficult delivery? .

-Are there incubators for prem.?
